There are more small shops that display home goods than ever before. The vintage craze has been part of this movement. People want vintage and antique furniture rather than new items. They feel newer furniture has less character. One of the problems with these types of shops is the lack of art on display. Many shop owners try to set up furniture in groupings to reflect how it would look in the home. There are few people that would go through this much trouble to find the perfect furniture without art to match.

Artists that want to sell their pieces need to take a closer look at small home goods shops. While they may have to pay for space plus a percentage of the sale price, their art will have a better chance of being sold. Those that sign each piece will also have a chance to spread their name throughout a local community.
